Visiting The Wedding Present Company showroom was such a joyful part of our wedding preparations! We enjoyed glasses of fizz as we envisioned our future home and compiled a list of special items we knew would hold sentimental value forever.
What made our wedding list experience with The Wedding Present Company even more special were the heartfelt notes from our loved ones alongside their generous gifts. The whole experience was truly a dream.
We really loved all the brands available for our wedding gift list through The Wedding Present Company! The variety of brands was one of the reasons we decided to go with the gift list. We adore our Pooky lights, Skye McAlpine Tavola crockery, and Schott Zweisel glassware.
We loved the variety of brands and options offered through The Wedding Present Company, and by opting for a fixed list, we ensured that the generous gifts carefully chosen by our loved ones were precisely fulfilled. The Wedding Present Company showroom and customer care team are also absolutely wonderful!
On May 1st, 2022, Jack and I found ourselves in a cozy cottage nestled in the remote Scottish Highlands during a hiking adventure. We had planned this trip to kickstart our lifelong ambition to conquer all 282 Munros in Scotland together. (Note: A Munro is a Scottish mountain standing at least 3,000 feet tall, and completing the full list is a challenge that usually spans a lifetime.) Jack surprised me with a proposal at the summit of our first Munro! It was a moment of pure joy and unexpected happiness.
We had always dreamed of hosting our wedding weekend at my family's home in Hampshire, a place filled with sentimental value for both of us. Inspired by the picturesque setting of the English countryside, we wanted the whole weekend to feel like a party in a secret garden.
We discovered our key suppliers through word of mouth and with the help of our amazing wedding planner, Clare Doggart from Doggart & Squash. Clare was not only fantastic at understanding our vision but also introduced us to wedding suppliers who felt like friends! It was so important to have a great connection with our suppliers because they became part of our journey leading up to the big day. Having Clare and Lexie from Doggart & Squash, Chloe Winstanely, Clemmie Cusack, Vanessa from Sage & Co., Mike from Tents n Events, and our entire gang of suppliers on board not only made our wedding planning a breeze, but they were also so lovely to have around on us on the day.
Our wedding ceremony and reception unfolded at my family's Hampshire home.
Our wedding decor was planned and crafted by Clare from Doggart & Squash and Vanessa for Sage & Co.
My wedding dress and veil were from Sassi Holford. As for the shoes, I opted for a pair of platforms from Dune, and I'm relieved I didn't splurge on a more expensive pair because they got completely worn out from dancing all night!
I borrowed my mom's diamond earrings; my lucky four-leaf clover diamond necklace served as my 'something old,' and my stepdad kindly gifted me a new bracelet. But I completely forgot about something blue!
Jack wore a morning suit from Favourbrook.
Our beautiful bridesmaids wore pastel green Maids to Measure tie strap maxi dresses in pastel green, perfectly matching our wedding color theme.
Clare and the team from Doggart & Squash handled our catering menu:
Starter: Kitchen garden salad with ricotta, dehydrated olives, nasturtium pesto, heirloom tomatoes, cucumber, and tomato vinaigrette.
Main: Slow-cooked Moroccan lamb with pomegranate and tahini yoghurt, tabbouleh, roasted ginger tomatoes, and chargrilled aubergine.
Dessert: lemon and elderflower wedding cake with berries and cream, served with an espresso Martini shot!
For the wedding toast, we had Piper Heidsieck Champagne, which is my mom's favorite. For white wine, we served Petit Chablis, and Jack's dad chose a beautiful red, Surani 'Costarossa'.
During dessert, we offered Espresso Martini shots as well as Moscow Mules and Paloma cocktails. Throughout the night, there were also gin, tonics, and other mixers available. Doggart & Squash even had an enormous silver ice bucket filled with beers beside the dance floor!
Our wedding stationery was crafted by Embellishing the Ordinary, and Laura was absolutely incredible. She not only created all of our wedding invitations but also designed our on-the-day stationery, including hand-painted tambourines for each of our guests.
Stick to your instincts! Wedding planning can be chaotic at times, and it's completely normal to find it stressful too, so don't feel bad. Enjoy the process and trust that everything will work out perfectly; you're going to love your special day.
