Keep reading to discover more about this spoiling evening, filled with lovely company, beautiful tableware, and a feast of deliciousness.
We were honoured to collaborate with Skye; with three outstanding cookbooks to her name and her culinary expertise gracing the pages of prestigious publications, along with a regular recipe column in The Sunday Times, we couldn’t think of a better person for this.
But Skye McAlpine isn’t just a food expert; she's a true entertainer, with her fondest moments revolving around the dining table, where she relishes good food and great company. This became evident immediately after she welcomed The Wedding Present Company and our couples to her beautifully renovated Victorian terraced house in southwest London.
Stepping through Skye McAlpine's door on a gloomy Thursday, one can't help but sense an immediate connection to something extraordinary. Her stunning open-plan kitchen exudes warmth, offering a welcoming atmosphere, the beating heart of her home life, meticulously crafted for hosting dinner parties.
Upon arrival to this intimate dinner soirée, the guests were greeted with a relaxed aperitivo - champagne and sparkling wine graciously provided by our friends at Marlo Wine. Savouring the sparkles, conversations flowed smoothly amidst admiration for Skye’s stunning home décor (in particular the wall piece displaying her collection of vintage bakeware molds) and Tavola tableware collection, which can be added to the wedding gift list via The Wedding Present Company.
Seated at a beautifully arranged table adorned with Skye McAlpine Tavola tableware, it was then time to indulge in a shared seasonal feast meticulously crafted by Skye herself: honey-roasted poussin, saffron couscous with apricots and toasted almonds, crispy leeks, chickpeas with lemon, parsley, and walnuts, and a kale and pecorino salad.
A sweet finale to this culinary delight? Skye’s delicious meringue cloud cake, made with pistachio cream - an exceptional dessert that we still dream about.
With delicious food meticulously presented on Skye McAlpine Tavola tableware, the evening transformed into a feast for the eyes. From the grand Bianco centrepiece dish to the textured Tutti Frutti platter and dreamy scallop Lido dinner plates in pastel colours, the collection infused the table with a touch of spring magic. Yet, with the platters full of food being passed around, creating a point of conversation it also proved that the handcrafted pieces from Skye McAlpine Tavola are a perfect addition to the wedding gift list, helping you to create cherished memories around the dining table with loved ones.
