WPC Real Wedding - Daisy and Charlie's Colourful Country Wedding

Join us as we chat to beautiful WPC bride Daisy about her stunning Sussex marquee wedding to Charlie. Held at Daisy's home, this wedding is full of fun, nature and colour and perfectly reflects the personalities of the bride and groom.

The Highlight of our WPC Experience

Being able to come into the showroom to see presents was so helpful, and the whole experience was so much fun. Charlie and I had a disagreement about the Omersa leather pig when putting our list together, and now it makes me so happy every time I look at it! It was also bought by a family friend, who ironically lives on Bacon Lane!

Our Country Wedding Venue

We had our ceremony in the local church of my parents village, and then held our reception in a marquee in my parents garden. It was so lovely being able to get ready at home with all my family around me. Being the hottest day of the year we were even able to get some last minute sunbathing in!

Charlie rode us from the church to the reception on a little rickshaw bike!! Our guests were transported the short distance in a bus.

The Sussex Marquee

Guests enjoy the speeches in the traditional pole marquee

We chose a traditional pole marquee, with long trestle tables for banquet style dining. Four Seasons Marquees were brilliant at helping us achieve our dreams for our marquee, and we were so happy with the outcome. We wanted it to be reflective of the natural surroundings of the meadow it was positioned in, and therefore chose a rustic coconut matting carpet, wooden table and chairs and an abundance of foliage and flowers. We added a pop of colour from some balloons attached to the tables.

As it was such a hot day, we had one entire side of the marquee open all night and positioned tall bar tables and raj tent style parasols with outdoor seatingsurrounding the marquee to create a lovely flow of space for our guests. It was important that our guests had space to relax both inside and outside of the marquee. We had coloured bunting and festoon lights suspended all around the outside area of the marquee to make the outdoor space feel a bit more intimate and enclosed.

Romantic Wedding Flowers

Daisy's bouquet and the flower girls' poseys made up of greens and whites and of course daisys
Daisy, Charlie, Daisy's sister, and their flower girls and page boys.

We chose local florist Carrie Macey to do our flowers. Our brief was natural - lots of loose, romantic arrangements that looked like they could have been picked from the garden that morning.

The flower girls poseys and Daisy and Charlie stand under the arch of flowers created outside the church.

We chose a classic green and white colour combination, scattered with daisies, for my bouquet and my flower girls' poseys. I loved the wild, trailing look of my bouquet, and how it complemented the appliqué flowers on my wedding dress.

For the marquee, Carrie Macey created the most beautiful cascading garlands to adorn the poles of the marquee. She also scattered pots of herbs along the trestle tables whilt filled the marquee with a gorgeous fragrant, natural aroma.

Bridal Fashion

Both my dress and veil were by Mira Zwinllinger, from Browns Bridal. The delicate appliqué flowers on my dress fitted in perfectly with our nature theme, and with my name! My shoes were sparkly Anthropologie sandles - a steal at £20 in the sale! For the evening I changed into a personalised pair of Vans - the perfect nod to my new surname and Charlie's nickname.

I wore my grandmother's necklace as my 'something borrowed'. I wanted my hair and make up to look natural and relaxed and was so happy with the look Charlotte Cowan created for me.

Videographer

My sister Kitty and I run our own videography company, Jenks and Co., so there was only ever going to be one person who would capture our wedding! Kitty did an amazing job juggling her duties as sister and videographer!

Reception Music

Tom Fabor and Madhen were our wedding band and were amazing! Our dancefloor was an absolute riot all night, even if it was the hottest day of the year!

Personal Touches

Our table plan was our ushers! Each usher was given a sandwich board to wear and walked around the reception. It was a great way for them to meet everyone and we loved that it was a bit different.

One of our ushers is a renowned joker in our circle of friends, so we had a page boy outfit made up for him which went down a treat with everyone!
