Held in the beautiful Homewood Hotel & Spa in Bath, Ellie and Alex's wedding has it all. From elegant gold and white details and thoughtful French touches in homage to the Groom's heritage, bride Ellie and her mother planned the day to perfection. A stunning Pronovias wedding dress with detachable sleeves had us all swooning. Join us as PR expert Ellie takes us through the details of the special day and shares their favourite wedding presents.
The Wedding Present Company were incredibly friendly and efficient throughout the process. We utterly enjoyed visiting their beautiful showroom on the King's Road to view the latest coveted collections and consider what we wanted in our home.
We were recommended by the fabulous founders of The Wedding Edition magazine, and have since recommended The Wedding Present Company to many dear friends.
OKA was certainly one of our favourite brands on The Wedding Present Company’s extensive list. The White Company is another - such as classic - and of course Royal Scot Crystal.
We've had many of our presents delivered. I must say that the process has been very smooth indeed.
We got engaged at Grace Hotel by Auberge Resorts Collection in Santorini. Alex managed to transport the ring from our London home to the airport, and around Greece ahead of us arriving at the stunning Grace for our final leg of a beautifully long holiday. After dinner, he suggested we take a romantic walk down by the church looking over the water and Skaros Rock. When he told me to sit down for a second, I knew it was coming. The next moment, he was down on one knee. It was utterly beautiful.
White and gold, countryside chic. My wonderful mother suggested the colour scheme. We had an absolute blast throughout the process. Alex is French and I loved how we incorporated copious touches such as our aisle song, our stunning croquembouche-inspired cake by The Cake Architect - peppered with macarons - and our celebrant sprinkling French throughout the ceremony. I must also mention how utterly spoilt I was by my gem of a maid of honour, Fi. She threw me a ‘Breakfast at Tiffellie's’ bridal shower in addition to a fabulous spa hen do.
Homewood Hotel & Spa. A luxury country house hotel in Bath. My parents got married at their sister property Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa. We had the beautiful house hotel exclusively, and many of our guests stayed over and enjoyed breakfast (including wedding cake) the following morning.
My lovely mother and I like organisation, planning and control too much to hire someone to do the wedding planning for us, however the wonderful Heather Jones at Homewood was incredibly helpful - highly recommend.
Homewood provided the (incredibly delicious!) spread and kindly tailored to all of our requests. We asked for tarte flambée for the evening - a specialty of the region of Alsace. Highly recommend (it's better than pizza..!) Their Kaleidoscope gin is a must!
Laura McLellan of Cotswold Blooms did our flowers and also brought items such as elegant gold candelabras.

We had Unity String Quartet play at our ceremony (aisle songs were La Vie En Rose and Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World) and at our reception. For the evening, the fantastic Oliver Fatemi DJ'd for us and our first dance song was Beautiful South - Les Yeux Ouverts.
We had so many incredibly special moments, such as simply seeing people so close to us meet for the first time and connect so effortlessly, and one of my wonderful bridesmaids dashing into our suite five minutes before the ceremony following surgery that morning. She’d flawlessly emulated the hair and makeup in the car one-handed… Also, the incredibly beautiful, witty, emotional speeches - they rocked it.
It sounds obvious but focus on the larger elements of the wedding in the lead up, just as much as the smaller things. Relax with the understanding that your wedding venue and team have got this! (Working in PR I like to run the show, but on the day I was fairly zen knowing they had it all in hand.) Enjoy every second of your big day! We certainly did, thunderstorms and all!
