Engagement Story

After several months in lockdown in 2020, Harry organised a camping trip down in Devon. Keen to avoid public campsites, Harry had managed to find the most magical location by getting in touch with local landowners and enquiring if they would be willing to let us camp on their land for a night (I was convinced no one would say yes but turns out people are generally quite happy to help a man when he wants to propose!).

When we turned up the lovely landowners had set up bamboo flares by a small river and managed to drag a beautiful copper fire pit there as well filled with logs and kindling- it was all very romantic. Harry and I set up our tent there and then he suggested a walk... By the time we returned to our campsite I had a beautiful engagement ring on my finger and a huge grin on my face! All in all, Harry planned it perfectly and we were also so lucky with the weather and we couldn't have asked for more wonderful hosts, who were so thoughtful setting us up in the most idyllic spot!

The Inspiration for Your Wedding

An English Country Garden - although the flowers felt like something out of Hollywood and made the whole event!

Location

We were married at a beautiful church in South Harting in West Sussex, followed by a reception and dinner and dancing at my parents’ home nearby.

Flowers

The church flowers and my stunning bouquet were created by The Blacksmith's Daughter. My wonderfully talented sister-in-law, Camilla Mossop, did the flowers for the reception and wow- did she do the most incredible job....!

Stand Out Moments

The church service was amazing as we had the incredible L'Inviti Singers and David Guest... I'll never forget walking down the aisle to Zadok the Priest!

Advice to Future Couples

Take (at least) three days off before the wedding to avoid being rushed... and work out the logistics of the day beforehand to avoid a last-minute stress! I ended up dressing our little bridesmaids as my big bridesmaids were already at the church!
